Okay, the other night i was setting up Nero to burn a DVD and my PC froze. I turned off my PC manual without the rebooting properly and now when i boot up my PC on any profile the Start Bar wont show up and there is no sound i have try a System Restore and I get the message "System Restore cant help restart and try again" but it wont work. And most of my System Tools wont work so i cant backup my hard drive and Reformatting it. Can someone help?
Have you tried doing a system restore to an earlier date? It sounds like a large portion of the date on your hard disk is corrupt. It sounds like a reformat may be in order. However, if you can't back up any of your data, the easiest way of doing it would be to temporarily remove your hard disk from your PC, install another hard disk, put windows on that, turn the machine off, put the other drive back, then load windows off the new drive and copy the data across. Reformats are done outside of windows so the actual partition delete and reformat should be easy enough to do. Can't guarantee how much data is rescueable though.
