About two weeks ago I switched monitors for my neighbor; CRT to LCD. I also reformatted his HD because it was running terroribly slow; it had'nt been done since he bought the pc. Well a week later he complained about pictures showing very badly, so today I went to check on it. It turns out that pics that are stored on his hd showing very well, but any pics that are veiwed over the net show with shadowing and blurred. The pc is running XP Home, sp2, 2ghz P4, but only 128MB RAM, and I don't know what vid card he has. Although the pc and internet connection is too slow for my taste, I don't think that is the problem because everything is fine while veiwing with the crt. Do you guys have any suggestions?
128MB isn't enough for Windows XP, but that's not the matter here. If it's just pictures showing badly on the net, is he using internet explorer 7? Try reinstalling the browser in any case, ie7 certainly has a picture image quality bug.
