hi all i hope some1 can help me, ive just got a pc from my friend and in my computer it has adminastrator and the name ray in there, how do i get rid of the name ray has thats whos pc it used to be and put mine, i only want my name on the pc i only want 1 account, i have my name on pc when u log in were u can have a password but i want to get rid of all other names so i dont have diffrent peoples name on pc, i hope someone can understand what im trying to do and i hope someone can help me please i would be very grate ful if they can help me thankyou for taking the time to read this i just hope i put this in the right section thanks again.
start - control panel - user accounts - "pick an account to change" - select Ray and go "delete this account"
sam, you can't delete the administrator account,but you can change the name for it as long as you know the password for the account if it has one.
i believe you can delete the admin account as log as the new account you created for yourself is a admin acct gl
ID10Teror, No,you can't delete the administrator account unless there are 2 administrator accounts set up on the computer which I think in angie30's case there is only one administrator account on her computer.If the account has a password and she doesn't know it,then she can't delete the account.So we're both right!!
You can delete admin by going into setup but I forgot how it works. I'll look through my files but it would be quicker if someone knows what I'm talking about. I do remember it was easy.
