Ok, before I came to AD all I did was put a movie in and made a copy with Xcopy 123. Then I had a problem and came here and got all the help I needed. Now I want to know more, much more, I have been reading many of the post in AD and am getting confussed as I do not understant all the lingo. Pleas quide me to some help sites for:
    1. What is a cd/dvd scanner program and why do I need one?
    2. Is there a book maybe like DVD coping for Dummies?
My life was simple to I came here but I have to admit you all have peak my interest and have been extremely helpful so I gratefully Thank You.

nero has a CD/DVD program called "Nero CD/DVD Speed" there you can do quality scans etc. if your drive supports it . it isn't necessary to have though.

theres no book BUT heres a great guide or two you can download the programs here also

keep in mind x copy is pretty much history being its go shut down years ago and the program way out of date.

your best bet is clonedvd 2 + anydvd it has a free 21 day trial has free updates for life very easy to use plus great quality

remember to use good blank media (Taiyo Yuden and or Verbatim) and burn at 4x or no faster than 8x starting out

    thanks aabbccdd,
I have already downloaded RipIt4Me, 1Click DVD Copy 5, DVD43, DVDFab Platinum, DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink, Nero and DVD Identifer. I am testing them to see which I like best.
Once I get the basics down then I will try the editing.
