    so i got the game and put it on my comp and tried to lan connect to a couple of my buddies in my dorm room soo...
    with my computer i couldnt see the game that was made, but with my friends computer using the same ethernet cord he got on and played he even used the same disk i was using help!!!

    Well I never owned part 2 but I have 3.So it's on but the screen is blacked right and you can play single player just fine?

    I'm pretty sure it's the drivers on your computer or something else on your end.Update everything you can think of especially the network card and gfx card.Also It could very well be the router configuration or the setup of the game that's the culprit.

    Get into the online configuration of the router.Usually this can be accomplished by typing in the router address(192.168.1.1 in most cases but check your router manual)in your browser and pressing enter key.Make sure it's just the address NO http//: OR WWW or it won't work.

    The game may require port forwarding in the router etc.Read the AOE 2 manual for setup instructions.If you don't have the manuals you can download them free from the the site :)

    Here this is the only support doc I found :( and worst of all it's microsofts! but it may help a little.

    ok so i need to upgrade my network driver but the only upgrades of gatways site actually would downgrade it

    No go to the manufacturer of the network card(e.g netgear,linksys,dlink,etc)

    You have to put the IP number of your computer in the DMZ settings of the router.

    ya but i have no router none cant have any in the school
