new case

    i have a dell can i just change the case to abyone i want?

    As long as the motherboard is a standard atx, mini atx then you won't have an issue with the case.
    Sometimes PCs are built with proprietary connections to the case plugs and switches, and cross connecting them to a normal case can be a pain.
    If yours had a standard header layout then just go ahead.

    and how would i know if i had a standard layout?

    is there 1 connector with a lot of wires to the front of the case or lots of small connectors with about 2 wires each to the case front?

    is there one connector where ?? where do i find these at ? in side connected to the mobo ? or to the chasis

    motherboard to the front of tower.
