I recently had an old VCR fried by lightning due to using a cheap
circuit breaker power bar. In an effort to prevent the same thing from happening to my PC, I want to invest in a good power surge and spike protector. Anyone have any advice on what I might want to get? Thanks in advance for any shared collective experience . . .

    Thanks skater685 . . . a follow up question if I may:

Do you know if the Belkins protect you from 'spike' as well as
'surge'. I've heard those are two separate concerns. Any light you
can shed on this matter is greatly appreciated, thanks . . .

hey thanks skater685, I got the same Belkin and the support staff at the shop agreed with your tip saying that was the way to go. I got
it for the same price too - appreciate your tip! This thing looks for sure like it's built to work and last. Good warranty too. I feel
    much safer now.
