I have a satellite internet connection on my computer that connects to my pc through a usb port. How can I add my son's computer to this internet connection? Do I need a router? Does his computer need a modem?
for internet sharing you need to make a small network between your pc and your son for that you need a switch.no modem is need it on thew other pc. just the switch and a network cable from the switch to your sons pc if you want to use cables. check on the back of your sat modem it should have usb port and a rj45 port (network port) this last one is need in order to make a shared internet conection in your small network it cant be done with usb interface. even with the switch.
