im stupid and new to computer games

    ok can windows 2000 with the windows xp os play world of warcraft,city of heroes, or any new rpg game?

    huh? That doesn't make sense. And Your specs not your OS will tell if you can play the games. IE: RAM, Graphics card, and Proccesor

    your not going to be able to play any games under windows 2000 since it is geared for business and stability, if your looking to get into pc games you should get windows xp, and yeah hardware is more important then what your running on it, (ex. im running a pc with 1gb of ram and a 7950 GX2, compairing it to a compaq would be crazy since it isnt cut out for gameing) that is why you would build you would build a "gameing pc" or buy a pc such as the ones made by voodoo pc or alienware.

    He probably had windows 2000 installed then installed windows xp over it.

    What i've noticed is computers that get upgraded don't run quite as well as computers that had the new operating system installed to begin with. Pretty soon it's going to be 4GB of RAM Standard for Windows Vista.
