nero error burning DVD

Hi
I used Nero 7.0.8.2 to burn DVD and it just gave me an error. I have NEC 3550 DVD burner.

Update your firmware to the latest version 1.06.

Physical memory : 247MB
Free physical memory: 63MB
Memory in use : 74 %
512 mb would be better - upgrade your memory if you can. In the mean time keep as much free as possible. No multi tasking and closes any unnecessary processes.

Your using good media but your overburning. Take the burn speed down to the media rated speed of 8x or lower.

Thanks for your reply. i'm a bit afraid to update the firmware coz i heard if something goes wrong in the middle of the process (like power disconnection) it could damaege the hardware

Yes it could but chances are slim. Just don't update like during a thunderstorm. The update/flash takes about a minute - not long at all.
Make sure no discs in the drive and no programs running.

Really not that bad at all
Good to keep the firmware up to date. One thing it does it program the drive w/ media codes to correctly write/recognize media esp newer media.
