Is there an internal DVD player that will work with a Compaq Deskpro (500 mhz) running Win98SE? I could not find any that did not have a minimum specification of 800 mhz.

I need to setup a workstation to present training programs and would like to use this old PC if it will handle a DVD.

I suspect that most, if not all, new DVD Rom drives are going to have requirements beyond the abilities of your older machine.

That means you will need to look at used units. Check at used computer stores, repair shops, or online like eBay for DVD Rom drives compatible with Compaq and an older OS like Win 95/98.

You will need to have access to tech info to make your choice and many people selling their used equipment may not have the data you need. Depending on your time and budget restraints it might be just easier to buy a new, budget priced tower and connect it to your existing keyboard, monitor, etc.
