i need to make a image of the sims open for biz and have had no luck , my daughter has destroyed the origanel and it will no longer play .

ive tried alcohol , iso buster , dead disk doctor , power iso , stellar phoenix cd 2.0 and a handfull of generic crap and nothing seems to recover it .

the disc looks like she may have sprayed a little hair spray on the disc surface as there is little rounds cloudy blotches spread across the entire disc .

the disc really doesnt look that bad thats why im asking for help from you all , if the disc looked wasted i wouldnt of bothered .

i can copy everything except for the large zip file , it will copy about 57% or 330 mg and then error out or skip them all together .

i dont have the money to buy this again and dont really want to spend the next two days trying to dl it p2p so if anyone has any sugestions then please , please help me , im at a stand still with this till i hear from you .

thanks to all for any help

It may be unrecoverable, but this is worth trying. Cover the disc with toothpaste, let set for 3-5 minutes, add a small about of water and wipe clean. That will clean what ever is on it and will fill some of the smaller scratches.

    Good luck.

You should back up early :p. I've always thought about doing that, I backed up my StarCraft, and Halo on ISOs and i'm very fond of playing without a CD.

Unlucky, like Niobis said, it generally works, but dont forget to use a soft, non adbrashieve cloth (soz bout spelling lol). Otherwise it'll damage it further, and if that works, download GameJackal. I know it's Shareware, BUT, if you were to accidently type in DDL2 into i dunno, erm.. Google? and search for it and accidently download GameJackal, for free.

GameJackal, allows you to play it without the CD/DVD in!

thanks for all your rplys folks , but the disc bit the f____'n dust,
man i tried everything again and again with a big 0 results .

i spit shined ur up and drove to wallmart and spoke , i mean fought with the store manager and made them replace it , took a little finness plus a few tears out of my daughters eyes and now shes playing her frickin simms again .

u bet i made a image before the cd left my hands so now all is good , thanks again folks !!

one thing i wanted to add is that wallmart the richest company in the world ( or prety dam close ) had the balls to tell me that them takeing the game back will be a loss and that they couldnt afford any losses ( ya frickin right ) , i looked him in the eyes and started laughing , i told him i make under 40k yearly , what does wallmart make a year ???

we run this economy and dont ever forget that folks , without us , there nothing ,
