I seen so many of these threads but none of them are the same. It seems its a big problem. The Computer doesnt read the external harddrive.

    I have a 300 GB seagate ST3300601CBRK
on the seagate website they dont have anything for it ( wrost site i have seen with support)
    It randomly stopped working
I tryed it in all my USB ports and Firewire ports. On my 3 PC's and on my MAC. So its not my ports. The light on the harddrive turns on and it makes noise >_>. So its working.. but not reading anywhere.

moved to correct forum. does windows see the usb/firewire device at all? did it come as 1 piece or you had to put hd into external case?

thanks alot for your time. It seens that what currupted by harddrive was the switch from MAC and PC.
