ok wasnt sure where to ask this so hope this is ok, was checking something in my bios and noticed in advanced options the following

    cpu spread spectrum - disabled

    pcie spread spectrum - disabled

    sata spread spectrum - disabled

    ht spread spectrum - disabled

    cpu thermal throttling - 50%

am hoping someone thats savy on this stuff can tell me what these are/do and if maybe i can boost system performance by enabling them and adjusting thermal throttling? im very curious so thanx for any and all help!

edit - oh and if it helps my board is 'first international computer inc' model - KTBC51G and bios is 'phoenix technologies ltd' version - 6.00 PG

    CPU spread spectrum description.
    http://www.rojakpot.com/showFreeBOG.aspx?lang=0&bogno=266

As for the rest, you'll have to do what the rest of us do 'Use GOOGLE'!
You'll find descriptions for all those items you've listed.

NB: None of which are going to give you a performance boost, as they are all similar except the CPU thermal throttling, which refers to the CPU speed when the system is idling.
