PC not realizing Ipod plugged in?

    I have the old regular Ipod click wheel. When I plug it into my PC now it won't show up on my Itunes or anything. I have tried resetting it multiple times but nothing has worked. It won't even charge. I have tried a friends USB plug and it still didn't work so I know its now that.

    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    IF it isn't even charging then it is probably a hardware issue, does it charge from a wall outlet?

    I don't have the cord that plugs into an outlet so I don't know...I guess I need a new ipod.
