detecting array

    ok i added a harddrive to my pc as slave to dvd drive, everythnig is working fine except right around bios boot i see it says detecting array and just hangs there for about 45 secs....is there any way to help this? google didnt help me out much any help appreciated.

    have you got the raid function enabled in your bios if yes disable it

    i looked for that in my bios and didnt see and thing to do with raid...will look again to be sure

    ok i fixed it...started going through options and found this "onchip ide channel1" - enabled....disabled it and presto no more detecting array...so what exactly is onchip ide and did i slow anything up by doing that?

    edit - ok i was quick to post...im a dumbass i just realized that it didnt detect array because now my harddrive and dvd is not recognized...going to turn it back on now
