1. I can't seem to make the loader come up by pushing select, it was abit confusing on your Tut. b/c you said wait for UMD to AUTOLOAD, which I thought we disabled "UMD AUTOPLAY" anyway I press X to launch my completely legit UMD Game Disc, wait for the white PSP screen to go away and then push SELECT, nothing happens, I then try furiously to push select like a million times but nothing ever happens the game just loads as normal, I've checked and rechecked each step here and nothing seems to help.

2. I could never get PSPHost 2.0 to work, I kept getting USBhost failed etc.. read that I needed to make sure PSP TYPE B drivers were installed, tried installing just about every TYPE B PSP driver from the Net over and over again (my PSP seems to be TypeA) and after a couple of restarts for good measure I gave up and just downloaded PSPHost 1.8 instead, it's USB Host function runs just fine, but its a moot point because I can't even work out my problem number one above... Please help this drivin' me nuts, I am very determined...
make sure the 4 plug-ins are enabled(disable and re-enable if need be) exit to XB then go to GAME...press SELECT...should see a menu pop up....go to Select UMD/ISO File..if u have your ISOs in the right place u should see them here...u shouldn't hit X to load the UMD(cuz that runs the UMD lol)...hit Select 1st...hope that helps ><

I did as you said but still nothing, I disabled/re-enabled all four plugins many times, complete with redundant reboots but still nothing, pushing select on the GAME category with my UMD game in but nothing is happening. GAH!!

it will allow you to play games on Custom Firmware 3.03 OE-C in xmb from usb or ms (using Square to toggle)

But first you have to flash ur psp.

Can I just say thank you to everyone that has read this guide.

It was my first one and i thought it would been one of those "Thread with no replies"

I'll try and see if it works for 3.10 OE-A'

I think I installed type B drivers but I don't see how that affects my current situation of SELECT not working, is it possible that I may have a TA-082 and just don't know it? What would be the symptoms?

My supposed "UMD" (actually the ISO which I selected to be loaded from my computer) keeps reloading....then goes back to XMB. Itried more than 5 times to click the UMD icon again. Everything looks normal...it's just that my ISO doesn't actually LOAD.

I've gone throught this process many MANY times!

PLEASE HELP....

Yes no-umd needs to be disabled and make sure you hav the plugins from the package enabled and do not enable any other.

make sure u installed psp type b

make sure the settings in PSPHost is correct:

Open it up.
Right-click on "PSPHost" Icon in "TaskBar" -> and select "Settings".
In the Sub-title "Directory to share over USB" Browse to the folder where you have your ISOS/ CSOS in the ISO folder. (Like say if my ISOS/ CSOS are in C:/PSP/PSP Stuff/ISO/ I would choose C:/PSP/PSP Stuff and not including the last ISO folder.)
In the next "Program Options" Sub-title Check the box of "Enable USB at Program Start".

go to settings on xmb then system settings and turn umd autostart off

I highly doubt the other USB Mod will work. At the start it said it was for 3.03 OE-C and I already knew the chances of it working were 25% and the chances of bricking was 75% (As diferent firmwares have different settings.), but I still tried it seeing as this app "usbmount v1.03" is so buggy at the moment and I got so many admirers (I hope there are admirers who liked my guide) So anyway I've just tried it, and it nearly bricked my PSP but luckily I backed-up my Flash 0 files. I have followed every steps but it still didn't work after I enabled the plugins then booted into the XMB and the screen stayed black and turned itself off. (I'll try and explain the problem as easy as I could so that everyone can understand) This happened because the firmware 3.03 and 3.10 has different let's say settings and stuff and when I overwrited the files, the other files in Flash 0 that had the new settings could not load the old files from the USB Mod which resulted in a crash. But I backed-up the files I overwrited before and then I just go into Recovery and replace the Flash 0 files again with the ones I backuped and then I exited Recovery and the PSP booted up nicely. You guys might not have been as lucky as me.

It was a close one but it was awesome seeing my PSP not booting up!!!!!!

Hi ThisDude, thanks a lot for your guide, i managed to get it to work with my non TA-082 PSP and it worked great.

The thing is, I now own a TA-082 with fw 3.03OE-C, and tried loading ISOs through the USB using this same guide, however, it didnt work :(

When I plug in my non 082 PSP, Windows makes a 'teling!' sound, as in, the connection was successful and everything goes great. But when i connect my 082 PSP, it sounds like 'teleling!' which sounds bad... and I push 'Select' in my psp, the red menu shows up, and says that the cable is connected, however, it is not connected to PSPHost.

Long story short, does this guide work with TA-082 motherboards? Thanks,

i dont like this usbhostfs for the psp. it has many issues...., first of after u flashed the USB mount vsh u have to enable it from the XMB everytime u finshed with one game and wanna play another...

My mod that i use is nice and simple. Hold Square and then go to the GAME>MS and ALL your games will be there....! much better!
