I have the slim version PSP with Firmware 3.72. If someone could point me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it.
Here is where you download it. The readme file in it will tell you how to install it.

Okay, I downloaded cwcheat and it said I need something called devhook.
So I looked into it, but many of the forums I looked at said that devhook is outdated. I've also heard that cwcheat will work with M33 but I've only seen one site to state that, so I'm not sure. So now on to my Noobish questions.

Does cwcheat work with M33?
If so, how do I install it?
Also what are the chances that I'll end up with a $170 paperweight?

Thanks in advanced

Don't worry about Devhook

Does cwcheat work with M33?
Yes it does, I have 3.71M33-3 and it works just fine.

If so, how do I install it?
Read the readme... but in my case (3.71M33-3) I just copied the seplugins folder found in the MS_ROOT_371 folder to the mem stick root directory, booted to recovery mode, enabled the plugins, rebooted, started game, enjoyed cheats.

Also what are the chances that I'll end up with a $170 paperweight?
0%

Also, the website I linked to has a guide to help a lot in what everything does, A MUST READ!

I really appreciate the help, but I must be missing something.
I downloaded 3.71M33-3, copied the update folder into /PSP/GAME/UPDATE just like it said and got no results. Perhaps its because I don't know how to run it. Other sites say something about need to downgrade my OFW to 1.50. Could that have something to do with it?

Thanks again

Sorry, went back and re-read your original post, I missed the fact you still have OF. Yes, you have to downgrade first to 1.5 then you can upgrade. This thread may help you a lot in that route. If you know anyone with a fat PSP that has CFW then you can go directly from sony's firmware to whatever that person has.

Here's another site which claims to be able to make a Pandora From Slim battery.

I checked out the site you gave me and all I have to say is, wow that sounds risky! The last thing I want is to end up with a brick.

Okay, so if I make this Pandora battery what do I need to do with it?

It would seem I've run into a problem. According to this forum, http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=85842, My PSP needs to have CFW to make the Pandora. My guess is I need the Pandora to put on CFW. Is it just me or do you see a contradiction?

Basically, the older firmwares could be downgraded without the use of pandora.

The newer firmwares can only be downgraded using pandora.

Pandora can be created using a PSP with custom firmware or you can hardmod the battery (Remove a pin inside the battery)

So my goal should be to obtain a Pandora battery?
Once I obtain a Pandora battery what steps do I take from there?

Also take into consideration that I have a Slim PSP OFW 3.72.
I'm not sure if that changes anything but I would assume it does.

Yeah you'd need a Fat PSP Battery that isn't patched. http://www.phiine.com/shop/ has some that you could buy. Theres plenty of guides here that would help you install it.

Upon further reading in the threads I encountered this messeage... "You can not downgrade a PSP SLIM to 1.50 firmware." ... so don't go that route.

Read this thread for a way to do what you need.

Okay, can anyone tell me if this whole process was successfully done with a PSP Slim OFW 3.72. I need to know that it has been successfully done with a PSP with the exact same conditions as mine.

I'm still uneasy about this whole process. The last thing I need is a $170 paper weight.

Forgive me for being over cautious

You need to create a pandora battery (Desperter Cementario or however its spelt) with a PSP fat.

You do have the hardmod option but itd probably be easier to just buy a universal unbricker from ebay.

I'm going to go with the hard-mod option.
Would it matter what battery type (slim/fat)I used?

it is a shame utube or whatever its called doesnt have a video guide for all this - since it still means nothing to me - sorry i must be getting old...

seriously i have a psp only reason i didnt use homebrew etc was eather -
1. my psp had the latest sony firmware
2. or i just dont understand how to do this stuff - and the fear of bricking my psp was not an option - but now i see you can unbrick it.. interesting now indeedy.

so since this homebrew thing is saturated with so many different systm files? i wonder if this has been done on utube? akin to the one for the nds r4 video??
