Yes that is your problem you need to use the cable/cables specified on page one. All you have at the moment is an adapter on your parallel port by the looks of it.

menu > 1570
go to "key emu" & turn on
"set default key"
press ok
exit to s*y sports & let it update, and you should be sorted.

Louise, menu 1570, brings you to set default and emu page.. just ok on set default and make sure emu is on? If that helps?

Well done Rach :) , Sorry I wasnt about to help you lol and great seeing a newbie solving her own problems :)

Louise , when you connect the SV back up to the TV , Press menu then 1570 and the last option should be EMU , turn it ON and you get to view ALL channels :)

Hi guys, need a little help please.

I'm trying to flash my Sta*view 3 Box using my laptop. I have a Null Modem cable & a USB Serial Converter cable. Downloaded "GTRom_Super_705e" from Eamoes Library using WinRAR and i am using the correct Com on my laptop, but when i try to download it, it just stays at 0%.

Has anyone any ideas as to what i'm doing wrong as i'm a bit of a novice at this. Thanks.

if you leave it for a min or so it will prob come up flash failed that can happen even with no box connectad ... did you install the usb adaptor on to your computer with the disc and you changed the com port in the device manager .. also try the 4 com ports in the file see which ones are working if they are not in use it will come up fail to open com port

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you tempo, but my laptop kinda crashed, so turned it off for a few mins. Have now loaded the disc with the USB cable & definetly have the correct Com Port, it will only let me connect with Com4 so tried to load the firmware again but still no good. Any more ideas?

did you go into device manager and go into ports to see which port you have assigned to the adaptor try mess around and change them from 1 to 4 and do the same in the loader file

Tried following the steps on page 1 of this thread to see which port but i don not have an option for "Ports (COM & LPT)" in the list in the Device Manager. The list i have is...

Batteries
Computer
Disk Drivers
Display Adaptors
DVD/CD ROM Drives
IDE ATA/ATAP1 controllers
IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers
Keyboards
Mice & other pointing devices
Modems
Monitors
PCMCIA adaptors
PCMCIA and flash memory drivers
Processors
Secure Digital host controllers
Sound, video and game controllers
System Devices
USB Serial BUS controllers

Do you know where in this list i can find out the info which port is assigned to the adaptor?
