get that out of your head dude.. ps2 DOES NOT use fade... pc games use that and pc games that use starforce3 use that aswell but NOT ps2 games... the idea behing fade is "originals dont FADE"... in other words game that protected with fade will brake itself and will stop playing... they cant use it on ps2 cuz ps2 has it's own pretection... the one that wont let you play backups.. so why add fade? dont you think that should be added to the ps2 hardware?... to add new protection the game has to be using AND the ps2.. but since the ps2 dont have it why put that on games?... tats all dude... no FADE for ps2 maybe on ps3 tho.. who knows...

Hey all, I tried backing up PS2 Supercar Street Challenge. It appears it's a CD. Anyway, I guess DVD Decrypter obviously won't work, so I used Nero. First, what's the best way to copy a CD using Nero? It seems there's several different options to choose from. Also, after the copy, I used the ol' slide card and boot CD and the game booted fine, but after selecting the car, etc., when it went to the track, it said something like "Please insert a PS or PS2 formatted CD." Any ideas?

Im No expert and all the info ive found is on this excellent web site, So dont hold it against me if this info is wrong...............
I think 1x=60mins, 2x= 30mins, 4x=15mins, 8x=7mins.

Not sure about that 'nero miniDVD' question, i had the same problem but i was able to read and burn FF-x2 as an 'iso' with DVD-Decrypter no problems.

I just cant test it because i dont have a modchip, please does any body have any suggestions?

4.38GB at 1x is 60 mins
4.38GB at 2x is 30 mins
4.38GB at 4x is 15 mins
4.38GB at 6x is 8 mins (this can be done on a 8x dvd)
4.38GB at 8x is insane and ONLY 4 mins

as for Nero well you can use dvd decryptor to burn.. if you got problems with Nero...

hey i use dvd x copy xpress for games that i konw have copy pretection. first i run it thru a program called DVD 43. it makes your computer see the game/dvd as a dvd rom instead of movie or +/-R disc. then when it says that it is ok to burn then it will burn right everytime. i have not had a bad burn since i have gotten these programs. o btw dvd 43 is free. so i hope this helps anyone in the future.

no offence but making backups with a soft that cost over 150 is to much... 120% cost only $40 and Nero cost only $60 and dvd decryptor is free... using one prog then using another to burn thats quite a trick dude... but wouldnt you pick another way to make a copy?... less cash involved that is...

first of all i got dvd x copy for free because my dad owns a company and did some business with the makers so they gave that to us for free. second of all dvd 43 works on its own, as long as you keep it in the system tray it automatically does was it needs, then when it is ok to burn you jsut use the program.i think if you do a yahoo search for dvd 43 then one of the first sites was the dvd43 site.

Thanks Drumplaya. I'll have to play with that one.

Cloud637, I personally have had no problems at all using DVD Decrypter to back up a PS2 DVD.

i'm using linux redhat 8.0 and I'm trying to burna backup ps2 game. I tried growisofs on the iso image (growisofs -speed=4 -Z /dev/dvd=/temp/FILENAME.ISO) but the dvd was unreadable in my PS2. I have burned back dvd video and played successfully in the PS2.

What linux programs would work for PS2 game backup? Do I need to burn in any special mode (like dao or raw96r with dvdrecord)?

Thank for the help!

Cloud, I got a slow-n-old one. NEC DVD+RW ND-1100A. It came with the Dell system I purchased about a year and a half ago. But it does the job so I'll keep it!
