goto xbox-scene and read tuts "how to unlock the hdd". Hope that will help.

IS Your hdd locked or unlocked? Make sure you have it UNLOCK.

How do you connect it in PC? As the tut said that you have to connect to Primary IDE cable (where the PC hdd is) and set jumper to Master.

Does the computer load the boot disk at turn on?

I was on the last step using xboxhdm, but when i try to lock the had, it says that eeprom is not found. I know its in the right folder.
Its my friends xbox, im using his eeprom and c folders, but my e folder.??? Can i do that????

yes,i it is unlocked(unplung it when the microsoft logo appears under the xbox animation).i do connect it to the primary ide cable.yes it boots up every time,then i get this when i try to lock the hdd,it says that the eeprom is not found. but I know its in the right folder. so what am i doing wrong?[img][/img]

hi ya,
I,m very new to this site so be a little patient.I have a problem with my xbox.I was attemting to soft mod which i have done with my other xbox.And i thought i have done it when it tried to reboot, i found that error 13 had come up.A few attempts later and i could'nt find out what the prob was.So i left it for the next day and low and behold i have now got error 16. So no games can be loaded so can someone please,please tell me the best method of sorting ot the problem.many thanks for antisipated he.

you can do hotswap to fix it. Otherwise you will need modchip.

If hdd is unlocked, xboxhdm will read the hdd.
How did you unlock the hdd?

i kinda mixed this method posted here and this

reason being that i did not het the MS logo after the xbox logo. but prob is..i got error 12 instead of error 11 as posted in that thread. so i applied hotswap logic to the process. here's what i did.

1) boot up xbox with cables unplugged frm cdrom drive.
2) juz when the indicator on xbox starts flashing, pull off ide cable frm xbox. (drive is unlocked)
3) plug it into ur pc with power cord still attached from xbox to harddrive

Here you have 2 options. (both does not require eeprom.bin.)
a) run xboxhdm the usual way
b) or you can follow method posted here
i) boot up computer with pc harddrive on primary master and xbox hdd on secondary master and run xplorer360 and transfer all the required files. (takes a long time though)

I have spent the last year trying to fix my friends little brothers xbox. i modded it for him, but within 2 hours he had erased a few files. Well i have tried and tried. Well the regular hot swap didnt work, it caused my system to lockup. But i did it with windows running, it worked perfectly. I havent finnished moving the files to the xbox yet,b ut everything looks good. Thanks!

I used Shademand's mod. I had 21 and now i have 16. I now read that 16 is even more challenging. What the heck. How do you fix that? I am reading page after page, but i cant find anything that is helpful.

Do check ur copy of shademand. my error 16 occurred when i had a corrupted dashboard installed.

I am having a very strange problem with xplorer360. I can get all the folders over, but it wont copy any files. It tries to open the files instead of move them. That program really sucks!

The version 5 works. I was using version 4. Hotswapping as we speak! :)

i did the hotswap and erazed everything except udata and tdata and put ms dash latest on and now i get error 13

Still have problem #16. This sucks.

i'm using xplorer360 beta 5. the transfer msges seems quite odd and at times it seems as if the program got stuck or something. i juz ignored it and let the program run.

As rae07 post above that you can copy data to xbox's hdd with xboxhdm. This way much faster. Here are the steps:

-download xboxhdm1.9 and extract it on PC.
-get the complete softmod file of C and E drive. You can get from your friend's xbox or download Shademand file from the first page. Also download the ms dash incase softmod file does not work.
-There is the linux folder inside the xboxhdm folder. Open it you will see 3 folders: C, E, eeprom. YOU ONLY NEED EEPROM WHEN MAKING A NEW HDD FOR XBOX. In this case you dont need eeprom. Then read here how to make a boot disk.

-Test your boot disk per xboxhdm tut from the link above to make sure the disk boots.
-when successed, turn off PC and Xbox.
-set jumper on xbox's hdd to MASTER. Disconnect IDE cable from PC's hdd. the Xbox hdd will connect there. So the connection should be the Primary IDE cable will connect to xbox hdd.
-do hotswap per this tut on first page. Connect xbox's hdd to Primary IDE cable where the PC's hdd connected to.
-turn on PC with the boot disk so you can load xboxhdm. Follow xboxhdm tut from the link above to copy file over xbox's hdd. DON'T LOCK AND UNLOCK HDD.
-when done just turn off PC. Connect xbox's hdd back to xbox then turn off xbox.

done.

juz wondering...wat's the version of evox on shademand's? mine's 3921. will there be any issue if i were to switch to ver. 3935? if so watg r there file i need to replace? do not wish to foul up my xbox again.

The files of ms dash are on the first page. You can replace 3921 dash with 3935 dash with no problem. Make sure you replace the right "xboxdash.xbe"

well I can help you to install evox 3935 instead of replacing 3921. This will not mess your xbox 100%

All apologies. I've read so many tutorials and threads in the last couple days that I'm feeling a bit fried and didn't read all 30 pages of this thread.

I followed the tutorial that you have a link for TheReturn. In your links, http://forums.maxconsole.net/archive/index.php/t-13629.html Thats the one I followed. Now I'm stuck with Error 16. Tried following this tutorial to use the "Shademand" softmod, but I can't get around the 16. I tried pulling the IDE before going to 16, nothing. Most times pulling the IDE before getting to 16 and hooking it to my second IDE PC cable, the XBOX still gets to 16.

I tried putting in a game (Splinter Cell) and it goes to 16 faster than without the game. How do I get my Xbox HD to PC without getting the Error?

Also thought about starting over using xboxhdm, but I never FTP-ed my xbox to copy the eeprom. Any suggestions to solve to Error 16? Any help is appreciated. Off to read more threads for help!
