Hi, I have used the app Staxrip to convert a dvd to xvid with AAc 5.1 vbr 200kbs - 250kbs audo in a .mkv container.

Perfect quality, and sound comes out, but on my 5.1 amp, the main sound (ie speech) comes out of the left speaker only, with the rest of the sounds out the rest. I have check the wiring of my set up, and when played on my stero pc speakers the main sound comes out left speaker only.

I have all the latest codecs and packs.

What could the cause of this issue be.

    Many thanks
    Skully

Incorrect channel mapping either during encoding or decoding. aac, AC3 and wav all have different channel orders.

I have opened the audio seetings for the aac profile in staxrip, but don't seem to see how to reorder the channel maps. I am doing a quick test now by including the existing ac3 file, to see if this chnages anything
