    Hey Bud
do you mean you dont see it in say Windows Media Player or the drive itself doesnt show up in my computer?
I have 2 of those mp3 players and noticed in WMP it doesnt show up all the time, I usually hit F5 key and if that doesnt work I shut it down and re-connect and it usually shows up the second time around
Its been doing that since I got the 2 players over a year ago
    Good Luck

So its not showing up at all,
Like generic volume or removable disk , Sigma USB Device

When its(mp3 player) connected , take a look in control panel---system--
hit the hardware tab----then device manager button----
See if its listed under(clik the little + signs )
    Disk Drives....
    Storage Volumes
and see if it shows up in Universal Serial Bus Controllers
Or IF Theres any Yellow Triangle ! marks next to any of those

Is this a new mp3 player, in other words is this the first time your trying to connect it to this computer?
Windows didnt detect a new piece of hardware and try to install it?

you can try going--- control panel---add hardware---and run the Wizard to install the thing and troubleshoot it, use the CD that came with it
    Good Luck

BTW The cord isnt in bad shape right? maybe a short, its the one with that small plug right, make sure its seated right not forced in the wrong way??
