When I burn a CD thats in Divx/avi format and play it on my dvd player which supports divx playback it skips randomly. It never skips at the same place everytime i watch it. But if i were to view it on my PC, it NEVER skips. What's with that? Is there a known issue with Divx players/DVD players???

@blkjedi Hi!Try to clean the lens of your standalone dvd player using a dvd lens cleaner(the one which has two little brushes on the surface).The fact that it doesn't skip at the same place can be due to some dust on the lens,if it was a problem on the burned cd,then i believe that it would skip more or less at the same place(not like your case). I used to get this kind of problem too on my dvd player,never skips again at the same place and if the problem persists i just use the dvd lens cleaner.At my place dust is something i really can't fight against even if i do my best to keep my room as clean as possible,there's always a way for dust to get on the lens. Just give the dvd lens cleaner a try,it might help. Vincent.
