will someone please take a minute and tell me how to convert my divx/avi files to vcds? my email address is humm97@aol.com...cheers.

Open your file with TMPGEnc, select the settings template (VideoCD NTSC or VCD.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">VideoCD PAL -- depends on the source material (look at the framerate of it, ~30fps = NTSC, 25fps = PAL)), go to settings and change the motion search to high quality and hit the start.

Then just burn the CD with Nero.

alright- i think i got it- but wont it be too long to put on one VCD? just like why i cant put it on one regular cdr? how do i split it in half?

Yeah, one VCD can contain 74 minutes of video, period. This means you need to cut the video in half. Look at our DVD 2 VCD guide -- in the end there are instructions for using TMPGEnc for splitting VCD files into smaller chunks:
