I am having a problem when I try to encode my wma's. They are not protected wma's. I am trying to encode them to mp3's. When ever I try to load one in to be enocded by nero, it gives me the warning that says One or more files could not be added for encoding. It may be possible, that the files can be added, if a dedicated plug-in is installed. I have searched this fourm and site for a plug-in. I have even tried google for one. I have not been able to find on for it to work. I am using Nero 7.5.1.1
Nero offer a free download of a WMA Plugin. URL is here. http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/wma-plugin.php I know it says Nero6 , but all my early plugins tried so far work in version 7.
I tried to install the plugin but it said there is a newer Nero product on your system than the one you are currently trying to install.
OK, so you probably have MSAxp.dll installed. You can check encoders/decoders from: Nero Express > Options > Audio > Options. I tested what you were trying and got this fuller message. "One or more files could not be added for encoding. It may be possible, that the files can be added, if a dedicated plug-in is installed. Microsoft's license does not allow transcoding of WMA files into any other format." So the problem will be that Nero will not allow encoding of WMA files to other formats as per the licence restriction. The workaround to that is: Make an Audio Disc from the WMA files and then rip to the format required. Not very efficient...but you get what you need. There is another Nero WMA plugin available, but I haven't tried this one. http://www.bitburners.com/Software/...o_Plugins/Nero_Wav_Plugin_replacement_2.0.0.0
I came across this thread in another AD forum. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/396804 It might be worth you having a look.
