when i try to burn i have message that there is on "advrcntr2.dll" in my system !when search for it i only got some cleaning tools that i need to buy. how can i fix it?
It's a part of Nero. Paid "anti-spyware" and "anti-virus" software vendors frequently use scams like this to scare or even force people into buying their products. There are very few legitimate anti-spyware products which require purchase. To a lesser extent, this holds true of anti-virus products as well. What is warning you about this file? Is it Nero or is it some "pop-up"? If the latter, post under the viruses section of this site - you probably have some malware on your system - and run Ad-Aware, SpyBot, Ewido anti-spyware, and Smitfraudfix. While this file may be a part of an older Nero installation (you are supposed to use cleaning tools supplied by Nero to fully remove old versions before installing new ones), if it isn't prventing you from burning, leave it and don't worry about it. If you do have problems, write down your Nero license key, use the cleaning tools from Nero's site, and reinstall version 7.0.8.2 and reenter your license key.
i reinstall nero 7.5.1.1 and no more problems with "advrcntr2.dll" but when ever i tryed to burn something nero freeze after few minutes. can this be fixed? how to do it? many thanks s.
1. Remove Nero 7.5.1.1 2. Use the Nero 7 Cleantool from the Nero site 3. Reinstall Nero 7.0.8.2 as I mentioned 4. Make sure you are using good media - Verbatim or something that says Made in Japan on the label 5. Find out of your drive's firmware is the latest - if not, update it. 6. Make sure nothing is hogging you memory or you have too many process running in the background when burning. That should take care of any conceivable problem.
hi i tryed with unistallinng then cleaning tools but neither of my nero(6 and 7) do not work for longer than 10 min begore freezing whole system. i clean it few times but it is always the same.
What other stuff do you have running? Try shutting down most background processes. You will need svchost.exe and a few other key processes, but shut down the rest, especially junk like printer drivers (btw, odds are half the background stuff running you don't need). If that fails then post a Nero log, if possible.
thank you for your help! can you be more specific how to shut down most background processes? which one i have to keep? many thanks
You can download a program called HiJackThis! and post a scan log here. In the meantime, you can just hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and select the Processes tab. I can tell what you want to keep: svchost.exe running (there will probably be multiple instances of this), LSASS.EXE, CSRSS.EXE, SMSS.EXE, taskmgr.exe, services.exe, winlogon.exe, and maybe one or two rundll32.exe are what you'll want to leave running on Windows XP. You can select anything else and click End Process. The only things you want to have left running are the processes I mentioned above. I'd turn off your cable or DSL modem beforehand in case you nuke your firewall. Then try burning a DVD with Nero or whatever other program. If all goes well, we know that there were probably too many background processes running/not enough memory and can take it from there. Just restart, turn your modem back on, and post back here with your results.
hiya again! tryed everiything you told me to but whenever i try to encode video whole computer freeze after about 9 and half minutes. i really need to sort this out. p.s. it also sometimes freeze when using msn and webcam.
If it happening to more than one app then it is highly likely that nero is not causing the freezing issue. However Nero does hog ram, hence why people are telling you to disable other services. This now can be a number of things and possibly not the board to answer them on: Are you running XP What is your RAM speed What is the processor speed Your free hard drive space, what percentage is it and how much Do you run AntiVirus, have you ran it recently What anti spyware do you use? If you have none run Adaware from download.com As the user above suggested, get HiJack this, and run it, post it here and let us have a look, to help. You say you need this sorted, then lets sort don't panic, just do the things I say here and people will help you
i have xp. don't know about RAM and processor speed (i am on broadband so it should be good) i have more that 11GB of free space AVG anti virus lavasoft Ad-Ware. here is Hijack This log: Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1 Scan saved at 16:29:41, on 11/10/2006 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\LEXBCES.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\LEXPPS.EXE C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgamsvr.exe C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgupsvc.exe C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgemc.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\{A430C34A-09DF-1033-0506-04012202002c}\Update.exe C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE C:\Documents and Settings\windows\Desktop\BitTornado\btdownloadgui.exe C:\Documents and Settings\windows\Desktop\HijackThis_v1.99.1.exe R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.crnaberza.com/browse.php O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [msnmsgr] "C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe" /background O23 - Service: AVG7 Alert Manager Server (Avg7Alrt) - GRISOFT, s.r.o. - C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgamsvr.exe O23 - Service: AVG7 Update Service (Avg7UpdSvc) - GRISOFT, s.r.o. - C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgupsvc.exe O23 - Service: AVG E-mail Scanner (AVGEMS) - GRISOFT, s.r.o. - C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgemc.exe O23 - Service: LexBce Server (LexBceS) - Lexmark International, Inc. - C:\WINDOWS\system32\LEXBCES.EXE
Do you have Spyware Doctor installed? If not, it's a trojan. I'd uninstall RealPlayer/RealJukebox/Realanything. This is not likely the cause of your trouble but it is technically spyware. Actually you're system looks ok, even pretty sparse, though I'd still scan with Ad-Aware (www.lavasoft.de) SpyBot (www.safer-networking.net) and Ewido. I'd still shut down all the LEX* (Lexmark printer) services running in the background via Ctrl-Alt-Del. I'd also shut down all the AVG* stuff (AVG anti-virus) while you're actually doing an encode and see what happens. This may help narrow things down. Also, be sure you are not doing anything else during an encode. If an encode/burn fails again, post the Nero log.
RAM and processor speed are different to internet connection ie. broadband. To find this out, right click My Computer, click properties. It will tell you there. I was really just curious, anything around the 2ghz processor range is good, as is 512mb of RAM. However I think this is one of your problems C:\Documents and Settings\windows\Desktop\BitTornado\btdownloadgui.exe BitTornado is a BitTorrent application where people can download torrents, most of which are likely to be illegal stuff. On certain sites people let virus's out and people download them. Just a thought, may not actually resolve your issue though
2.53 ghz 224mb of ram. yes i doen load bt movies (from former yugoslavia) is there a way to fix it without getting rid of this programe?
whenever i use nero to encode file (film) it freeze PC within 10 minutes. any chances that this can be fixed??
The amount of memory in your PC seems real low to me. As whoareya pointed out, 512 Mb is really what you need, especially if you're running XP. It's not a guarantee that'll solve the problem, but it should help. You can also try other encoding software. I'd try AVI2DVD if you're encoding AVI files. You may need to install divx and/or xvid codecs depending on what you're encoding. This does not necessarily mean you have enough memory, but it helps. Remember when encoding NOT to have anything else running, especially seeing as you have really a minimal amount of memory in your system. You may also, before starting encoding either on Nero or AVI2DVD, hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and terminate anything beginning with LEX (your printer drivers) or AVG (your anti-virus - never have anti-virus running when encoding!) Let me know how it works out.

HOW DANGEROUS IT IS FOR MY PC? HOW TO FIX IT?
I have a similar problem. Recently installed Nero 7 and it gave me a whole heap of issues. So, I completely unistalled the program from my system. However, now when I go to certain files or try to burn from XP I get this really annoying pop up window. Can anyone help or advise how to get rid of this? Bearing in mind I no longer have Nero folders or Ahead folders on my PC Cheers
I had the same problem. Than I unistal NERO than you should visit this page http://ww2.nero.com/enu/Support.html. There select Tools&Ulities than chose your Nero 6 or 7. And than Clean Tools: for a clean reinstall of our software. Open this and it should run. Let me know if it solve your problem.... ;-)
I dont know what the outcome of my similar "advrcntr2.dll" error will be after using the clean tools... I have the disc in storage due to divorce. I was looking for answers when I bumped into this forum. Thanks go out to those of you who have helped those of us less in the know. I may have problems afterwards still due to a lack of RAM and CPU, but when the dust of my personal life settles i can upgrade my hardware! lol. Appreciate the help folks, even if we sometimes forget to say it!
