first off stop with the all caps. people think ur yelling at them. second u need to make sure these videos arent copyrighted.in most countries it is illegal to download copyrighted material. after that just unrar the file and use a app like divxtodvd or nero vision express.

@sleepy17 - if you turned the volume down (ie stop abusing that poor CAPS LOCK button) people will help you a lot sooner.

plus we can only help you if those movies you downloaded are indeed 'free' to download ie not copyrighted

I know this is sort of off-topic here, but can I download movies off of Limewire that have been edited, like a little picture added in, which would make them not the "true" copy of the movie?

Or is that still considered Piracy?

I wonder if my question is related here.. cos I recvd no reply fr Home Theater. U guys helped me so much when I was new to DVD, hope u can help me on the below topic too. I'm really new on it.
I d/l a trial WMR to capture a on demand video streaming talk show. Everything's fine, but when I burned to disc, the vcd (can I also burn on DVD?) will play on pc but not on my standalone player. I know it's not the disc/player fault. Do I need to change the format ? It says WMV at the moment. Pls help.

    2. Is there anything ou there that's free n simple, similar to WMR cause my currency will cost me $200!! If I don't have a choise, I'll hv to get WMR but I really need the vcd to play on standalone
I tried some trials like BSRv3.2, NSV but nothing recorded cos too complicating for me. I just didn't know how to do it.

    3. Sorry f I'm on the wrong thread, pls direct me to someone who knows about this sort of thing. But pls help if u can. Thks guys

cynn are you sure that your standalone dvd player will play vcd's some don't you could go to vcdhelp.com and if you put in the model number of your dvd player it will tell you what type of disks your player will play, hope that helps, also vcd's are meent to be put on cd's, but you could convert it to be put on a dvd, with convertxtodvd, happy burning have a nice day

My standalone is a dvd player n can play all media (we don't have incompatible problems like you do in the US or western countries :) Our players are special....locally made to play everything. No branded players like Sony, JVC, Philips for us. Waste of money)
Anyway, I've already 500 pcs and used up 400...not a single problem. I did have a problem playing one audio till my friend told me to burn using cda format, then all was well.
So now I figure for this particular present case, should I be converting the WMV format to something else to enable it to play on standalone?

@cynn - found your unreplied-to thread eventually. had trouble finding it as it was in an obscure forum. teleported it to relevant forum for you :)

if you keep this link in mind - http://forums.afterdawn.com - you'll find it easier navigating the site. What i do everyday is (after clearing down all my email replies) is go to http://forums.afterdawn.com and scan down the list of all forums for stuff i want to look into etc

@sleepy17 - as to the original question, surprised i left this thread open so long. problem solved - closed - Read the Forum Rules please..
