I just got a computer fixed, then a problem started. I believe its the video card because the computer starts up and u can see it on the monitor but when it logs into windows xp my monitor turns black, you can hear everything but you cant see anything. I would like for some help so if you can please reply to this message I would appreciate it.
after restarting computer but before windows logo screen, press f8 button. will give you different options like safemode, normal mode & others. select safemode.
right click with the mouse on the desktop not on the icons, left click properties, click on settings tab & slide the resolution bar at bottom left corner to 800x600. press apply & ok.
i did all of that, i even system restored to a point when it was working becuz that didnt fix it. and i can hear the windows logging in and everything but cant see it, im just gonna go ahead and buy another video card. Do u have any suggestions on any inexpensive ones?
my computer turns on and like a couple of minutes into my session it freezes up on me, so i turn it off. it has happened to me a couple of times but now i cannot see anything neither my onboard or my addon video card work so i cant see wat is going on... does anyone noe how to solve this problem?
Whats your motherboard? If you dont know of by heart then you cannot check via windows then do this when your computer is booting keep tapping delete and as soon as text comes up it will only last for 1-2seconds in order to read it push the button Pause/Break on oyur keyboard here it will tell you your ram your motherboard write everything down and post back. But once you have pushed pause keep pushing it as each push you do it will pause for 10seconds. You are going to have to push pause quicly in oreder to pause your computer before it reaches the bios screen if it reaches the bios screen then its too late but keep trying. Good Luck
i turned on my computer and i was able to see wat was going on, and a little while later it froze up and then the stuff looked like it was in safe mode. it said that something is wrong with "pmxdisp display driver" does anyone noe wats up?
Its the Hercules 3D Prophet 4500 driver which is screwing aorund with your computer you have to try and unisntall them then reinstall or just buy a new card Ati 9550 is only 98au now and its much better then your current one or just uninastall the drivers and you will be able to use your onboard card
well you have gotten yurself in a bit of trouble then. try this in the bios go into Primary Video Adapter and out of Pci Agp and intergrated select intergrated and it should work after you take the 4500 out
