Just wondering what people thought of the Mac Mini. I was wondering what people's experience was with it and connecting it to a HD screen not bought by Apple. Also, will a Mac Mini run Windows XP?

Hey, I've got a mini and it works really well with XP. I haven't tried connecting it to a HD screen though.

My family has been using the Mac Mini 1.83Ghz Intel Core Duo, Superdrive, 2 Gigs of Ram, 160 Gig Hardrive, Wireless Keyboard & Mighty Mouse, with a Lacie 500 Gig External, and an Elgato Eye TV. We have it hooked up to be displayed through our HD projector.

    Bottom line...

    It's Awesome!!!!!!!

Everything works great, except for the wireless Keyboard & Mouse. The distance range that we can use them within is minimal. Other than that, everything works great.

Any specifics that you're wondering about?

Alright thats great to hear, about how far away do the keyboard and mouse work from? Over five feet?

Well, I'd say that the mouse works better than the keyboard. The mouse work's up to about 10 ft. and the keyboard will barely work up to about 5 ft.

We are considering buying a bluetooth extender, to increase the range of both.

Thanks for the information. I'll probably be buying one in the next month or two.

Got my 1.66ghz/2gb ram Mac Mini with wireless keyboard and mouse last week. Works very well. It's hooked to a 32" LCD TV/monitor and working perfectly. The native resolution of the Mini and TV are slightly different but I changed the resolution to full screen in the TV settings very easily and it looks fantastic connected DVI to HDMI. You won't regret it...
