So, the fall gaming rush has already started and I am looking to update. My monitor is horrible, and my graphics card is dated. Should I start with getting a new monitor, or get a graphics card instead?

Video card is your first move. A new monitor doesn't matter if you can barely run the games.

to me LCD is blocky ,my 19inch crt montitor might be alittle washed with it being 5 years old but its better than most under 200$ LCDs I have seen...hell even a few 900$ LCD TVs...

Yes I know newer LCD is better but meh I dotn ahve 200+ to get a good LCD montior.
