Command and Conquer Renegade I rarely post in the Windows-Games section, but I just felt I had to talk about Renegade. It is a great game, if you don't know about it, it is a RTS game, but in first person view, switchable to third person, but it is great. Althoug it may be old, you get about 600 players online everyday on the Westwood servers. I was thinking, what are your thoughts on this game, in terms of tactics and ideas, and what you would have liked to have been included in the game? I found my Renegade, a few days ago, and remembered the fun time I used to have, and so for old times sake installed and played again, only to be hooked. Wow the online play is so good, upto 60 players in some games. The action is awesome. My basic tactic is "Sniper", I help out my comrades by keeping pests out the base, before they can get in by taking a good view point and sniping my heart out. I don't realy have a favourite team, there are two teams, "Nod" and "GDI", but which ever team I get put on automaticaly by the game, I pledge my alligence to that team for that current game, and go all out, whether we lose or win, I will do my part in the 'War Effort'. I usualy play in first person view, as I just like it that way, but third person is also ok. I know there are other better games out there now, but Renegade certainly is a 'Westwood Classic'. You might want to know that I use Rengaurd when playing online to save myself from hackers and cheaters. Kind Regards, BluRay.
Its really a great game, But there are a few problems, 1) WOL is down and has been for ages, and Gamespy only has around 128 players 2)Rengaurd can be easily bypassed, Allowing cheaters. 3) Lag, Lag is bad, And there is alot of it in this game. 4) With C&C first decade, there on constant crashes in the game. (Constant is a too far. but about once a day, a restart PC will be needed) Good Points: 1) Great Playability! 2) FUN! 3) In depth! (buying consoles) 4) Great sniping, and allows for real tactics.
but thats the beuty of it, it DOES not lag. Well not for me. And Westwood Online is running and has been for a long time. Infact it is running beutifully
