oh ps i didnt start this thread for "newbies". I really dont give a flying **** if it say's newbie next to my name. It means nothing unless you actually brand yourself being completely new to the subject! I do not read whether people are newbies or not next to any post. If the information makes sense and it works than who cares what it says next to your name. People could be very knowledgable with or without this stupid name calling. I am not dissing anyones guides, I just simlified one for a person who knows the basic idea of how to do it. So if you dont like it, dont use it. It worked for me, I was just sharing the idea.
this is the first time i've actually been able to say "ammunition overload." there's literally so much material to go at here, i don't know where to begin. i guess my biggest point, d1g1taltv, is that you talk about simplifying things for others, then go on about how if they don't understand what you're talking about, they're stupid--doesn't that defeat the purpose of simplification? if someone's going to go through the trouble of learning a new skill, don't you think they're going to take the time to learn to do it properly? only in this age of half-assery does any doubt arise.
I think he's just sour because a few members, more knowledgeable than himself, picked apart his "guide" on backing up dvd's or something of the sort...
i was wondering why d1g1taltv's reply didn't go here - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/407110 instead of starting a rant thread
Maybe he felt that everyone had stopped listening to the "newbie" and so he decided to post this rant in order to get more ribbing about "guide". And anyway I don't think anyone was saying his guide was bad because he is status newbie or whatever, it is merely a bad guide. Pfft...
The only point I brought up about the guide was the statement he made about.... What is the point with using the guide if the author tells you to look up DVD Shrink documentation if you do not know how to use it. Or disregaurd what he says and stick to VHS. Then he goes on to belittle other guides that go into great detail and gives screenshots. I still find myself looking up guides and if the guide I find does not have screenshots I will go on till I find 1 that does. His attitude is he does not have the time to read a multi page guide and after the first page he stops reading. This is sad but true. Allot of members will do this. What hapeens when members do this? They end up coming to the forum and cloging it up with questions or problems they are having with the program. Which if they would have read the guide their question or problem was already covered in the guide if they would have only read it.
nope, not canine, i don't think. loco, you know wolves can't bark, right? *edit* yupps, wolverines are the second largest species in the Mustelidae family (weasels), the same family that until recently included skunks, who are now of Mephitidae.
LMAO I looked up the defenition of wolverine and it is part of the weasel family. Wonder what that says about me.
time to give ye all a smile A Captain in the foreign legion was transferred to a desert outpost. On his orientation tour he noticed a very old, seedy looking camel tied out back of the enlisted men's barracks. He asked the Sergeant leading the tour, What's the camel for?" The Sergeant replied, "Well sir, it's a long way from anywhere, and the men have natural sexual urges, so when they do, we have the camel." The Captain said "Well, if it's good for morale, then I guess it's all right with me." After he had been at the fort for about 6 months, the Captain could not stand it anymore, so he told his Sergeant, "BRING IN THE CAMEL!!!" The Sarge shrugged his shoulders and led the camel into the Captain's quarters. The Captain got a foot stool, climbed up on it and proceeded to have vigorous sex with the camel. As he stepped, satisfied, down from the stool and was buttoning his pants he asked the Sergeant, "Is that how the enlisted men do it?" The Sergeant replied, "Well sir, they usually just use it to ride into town."
