Ive tried Nero, RatDVD, and DVD Decrypter to rip and burn my dvd discs, and all seem to rip but when it comes time to burn they all fail at the beginning of the burn or say they cant burn to begin with. I am a military man and want some movies to watch while I am away from the states. PLEASE HELP!! I have a dvd burner, Nero7 and the programs listed above. i have a movie that DVD Decrypter has ripped to an iso as well as .VOB files. THANKS!
First off I want to thank you for serving and protecting our great nation. What media are you using to burn with? What error message are you getting during the burn? Are you trying to burn a movie that is larger then the standard DVD5 disc? You might be trying to burn the DVD on a disc that can not hold the capicity of the movie. Most comercial DVD movies are Dual layer (DVD9 Disc). In this case you will have to use a program like DVD Shrink or Nero Recode to transcode the DVD to fit on a single layer disc(DVD5 Disc). I am asking this because I do not see any transcoding programs that you have used (Besides RatDVD which I am not fimilar with) Of course if you are using Dual layer media then the transcoding step can be skiped.. So it would be helpfull if you gave more information (Error message/Media brand you are using/DVD5 or DVD9 disc?/How large is the ISO that DVD Decrypter riped to your HDD). The more information that is givin the easier it will be to help. Some extra information on things that could help for a sucsufull burn... Make sure your DVD Burrner firmware is updated. Make sure you are using 1st class media (Verbatim/TAIYO YUDEN/Other media that is Made in Japan MIJ media) Burn at half the recomnded speed of the media. Never go below 4x. So if you have 4x or 8x burn at 4x. If you have 16x burn at 8x. Do not multitask during burrning.
DvdDecypter is not up to date and will not ever be. A good program to use is Dvd Fab Decrypter it is always up to date and now with new version you can download main movie and get rid of rest of stuff that takes up all your space. After you download to HDD run it thru DvdShrink and set it up in preferences to write with Nero automatically. I have used this setup since Feb. and it has never failed. Good Luck from a former Marine Viet Nam Vet.
