new pc won't play games

    Built a new system
    asus a8n sli board
    amd 64 3500 processor
    igb ram
    256mb geforce 7900gt

    I installed windows xp. Every game I try to install doesn't run. The installation process goes fine, but when I click on the file to exeecute the game I get an error message. Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close.

    This has happend with call of duty 2, obilivian and farcry. Can some on PLEASE help

    maybe it has something to do with your memory. you can try replacing it with another one and see if it would work.

    XP is buggy. I've had that problem with games before. A clean install of windows fixed it for me.

    have you updated windows and all your drivers

    It's a new build, so it's a fresh install of xp. I'll try updating windows. Thanks

    the websites might have newwer drivers than the ones that came in the box with the componants aswel

    still no luck. I'm getting this error "appliction failed to start because d3dx9_27.dll was not found. reinstalling appliction may fix this"

    reinstall directX. there is a copy available to install packed with every game
