My question is what is the easiest dvd authoring program for a beginner because PGC Edit and other programs like dvdlab pro are so confusing to me right now as i am not that advanced with commands and so forth?

I'll assume you've seen the guides for TMPGEnc DVD Author above. I use Ulead MovieFactory ; it's simple and has the added benefit of burning your mpg to DVD so that you never see a vob.

I'd stay away from Tmpgenc - it's really gone downhill and the newer versions don't seem to work as well as the older ones. Plus he absurd licensing system can really screw you.

Womble MPEG Video Wizard is the best editor IMO and costs about the same as the others and works with any kind of MPEG, maybe AVIs too. It's got a nice interface. Moviefactory is easy to edit in too though last time I checked it was a bit picky about what it'll work with, at least in the older versions. But it has a great interface too.
