How to transfer files form pc to another pc

    hey there,my pal is stuck.he got a new lappie for his b.day and wants to put all his music and vids onto it(6gb in total)
    he only has a cd writer and does not wont to waste cds and his ipod is knackered so he cant use that as a hard drive.ive recommended software to him but ona ll of them you need to buy an activation key.i tried telling him about creating a new connection and windows but he cant get the hang of it.any ideas people and can u recommend any user friendly software?

    Use an external HDD.

    my friend does not have the money and its really a waste

    Set up a LAN and send them that way?

    that's what i did in august with my lappy for school ^.^ works well and is very fast. don't both with a router or anything, just a crossover cable and direct connection.

    for anything over a dvd's worth of data, i'd say the direct connection with a crossover is the easiest/safest/most trustworthy/fastest thing to do. there's lots of guides on how to do it, too.

    so, yeah, yupps, ripper. ^.^
