I don't know what you are really asking, but there is a bit more than just buying a motherboard, and you won't be finding a core 2 mobo for $100.

the asus p5wdh uses 975x chipset while the asus p5b and gigabyte 965 ds3 uses p965 chipset , p965 chipset have lower power consumption than 975x chipset

go with the Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3. If you haven't already bought a core 2 Duo processor, get the E6300 (1.86ghz). The Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 is very good for overclocking, in which the E6300 has been overclocked to over 3 GHz!

Have you got all your other components, i.e RAM, CPU?

    thanks guys !!

is power consumption the only dirrerence in these boards? how does power consumption effect my pc?

you can overclock the 1.86 to 3.0 !? thats awesome. i was gonna get a 2.4 - whats involved in overclocking? i've never done it, and know little to nothing about it, is it recommended for a newb?

no, out of all the parts, i know the least about the mobo, so i wanted to get that first and build from that.
