"open the .dvd file w/ either the latest version of clonecd or imgburn and burn :)["

would that I could ! Using either tool gives error messages.

ImgBurn says "Cannot open file blah-r6vegas.000 Reason: the system cannot find the file".

CloneCD says "Error opening file blah-r6vegas.000: The system cannot find the specified file"

- uh yeah, I dont have that file. But thats not what I was trying to open anyway. Why is the software looking for a file I havent told it about and that doesnt even exist ? Is it preprogrammed somehow ?

just to clarify what Ive got is a bunch of untried, untested, unknown files in one folder on my PC. I think I got these thru a torrent, but Im new to torrent as well.

Summary of my filetypes...

Ive got a:

blah-r6vegas.dvd 1Kb

blah-r6vegas.r00
thru
blah-r6vegas.r56 95Mb all

blah-r6vegas.r57 75Mb

Security Patches folder

blah-r6vegas.nfo 8Kb

blah-r6vegas-sfv 2Kb

Im not accustomed to using Windows to burn files so little experience with .iso files on the Windows platform. I dont have any .iso file yet anyway, and Im not sure which programs should be used and how to convert a bunch of files to a .iso image (which typically will be a joliet or iso9001 image anyway)....

Your main iso file is archived, what you need to do, is open anyone of the rxx files(x's replaced by numbers) in WinRAR, and extract them. Leave the .dvd file as it is, then once the file is extracted, you need to put the .dvd file in the folder where you extracted the file, if you extracted to a different folder, then open the .dvd in clonecd or whichever program you want to use, i recommend XBC or imgburn, and burn the disk.
Good Luck

although Windows states these are files of type "WinRAR archive" and even shows what seems to be a WinRAR icon ...

using WinRAR on these files just leads to error messages....

seems like WinRAR is looking for a filename.000 volume which I dont think I have....

"blah-r6vegas.r05: The file "???" header is corrupt is the error

in testing the problem, looking at the WinRAR window does show a folder and a file, the file is " blah-r6vegas.000 <-> size of 7.5Mb
I try to drag it out of the WinRAR window and its GUI flashes a shortlived window (to short to read) and I dont see any new icon on my desktop

so whats really wrong ?

open the .dvd file in a text editor, such as notepad, and copy & paste the contents here...I might be able to help you.

there's only two lines:
LayerBreak=1913760
nig-r6vegas.000

clues no doubt, but to what ?

ok, I'm not sure which burning app you're using to burn x360 games (imgburn or clonecd), but make sure you have THE LATEST VERSION of it. Also, make sure nig-r6vegas.dvd and nig-r6vegas.000 are in the same directory, then open nig-r6vegas.dvd w/ either imgburn or clonecd & you should be able to burn. also, make sure you burn @ 2.4x or a lower speed for best results.

CloneCD is up to date it says, its version 5.3.0.1
ImgBurn is also up to date, at version 2.1.0.0

I dont *have* any files that end in .000 (only those Ive detailed above in a prev post)...

I do appreciate you offering your insight, in any case...

neither app above will open the .dvd file

where did you download your files? I'm assuming you didn't download them from usenet, but rather, via filesharing....I've only dabbled w/ filesharing a few times so I don't know how the files come down (archived or whole files?)..your .dvd file is looking for the image file named nig-r6vegas.000 which is correct for the nig release. if you downloaded via torrent look for nig-r6vegas.000 and (re)download to your hdd & place in the same dir as nig-r6vegas.dvd.

I don't Usenet, it uses me.

Here's my problem I D/L GOW ISO (came in two files .000 and .dvd). I burned the game using Img Burn and deleted the iso. I forgot to set the booktype to DVD-ROM. My question is can I rip the backup, set the booktype, and re-burn?

Go Hard or Go Home

yep, put the disc in your dvd drive, open clonecd and select Read to Image file, then burn it using the .dvd file.

How do you rip the game?

Like right from the disc?

I've been trying to burn a back up of Need For Speed Carbon: Collector's Edition but everytime I burn it, I get an "unplayable disc" error from my xbox. I am burning on Verbatum discs with IMGburn/ DVD Decrypter at 2x speed. Everything seems to burn right but it still won't play. I have tried to burn it with CloneCD but I get the "file is too big" error. I have both the .iso and .dvd files. The .dvd file has the layer break and the correct file name in it. About the only thing I can think is that I need to patch the file with a ss.bin but the iso is supposed to be patched already. I can't find a ss.bin for the collectors edition so I am kind of stuck at the moment. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

I have a similar problem and need major help.

I downloaded the Lost Planet NTSC files and extracted them and got two files 'sx-lpexu.000' and sx-lpexu.dvd. Both these files are in one folder.

After opening the sx-lpexu.dvd in Notepad i see the following two lines
LayerBreak=1913760
sx-lpexu.000

I'm trying to burn using Clone CD 5.2.6.1 and my DVD drive is Liteon SHW-1635S. I have been getting the following error everytime i use CloneCD to burn the image when i select the .dvd file to burn. The error is 'Error opening file Layerbreak=1913760' The system cannot find the specified file.

I need some major help in this as i don't know what i'm doing wrong. Using Imation +DL media as it seems to work well with my friends machine as we both have the same kind of machines.

I tried to burn a different game (Fight Night Round 3) which had a ss file available for download. The ss file didn't match but again, this iso was supposed to be patched already anyways. I burnt the game and this time my 360 reads the game, the screen goes black and then I get a dirty disk error. I tried changing the bit setting on my drive in imgburn but I don't know if it worked correctly. The dvd burner in my drive is made by Sony but IMGburn let me change the bit setting to DVD-ROM under the LiteOn tab. Do I need a specific type of DVD+R DL burner in order to burn games?

Hey guyz,
i have just hotswapped G O W and when i try 2 merge the ss file to the iso file usin ss merger, then it asks if it shud find the md5 number. when i click yes then it just loads 4 soo long, when i click no 4 the md5 number then it turns up straight away. i click merge and i get a file which is 1kb long. can som1 plz tell me y this is? and if i am doin somthin wrong?
#1022 08 Feb 2007 @ 5:34
@ m_patel86
thats how it should be, the 1kb file a '.dvd' file which contains the layerbreak information, so when you burn the game, the laser knows when to move from layer 0 to layer 1, when you click merge, the 1kb file that is made should be in the same folder as the iso, open clone cd or whichever application you use, and burn the .dvd file, it will automatically access the .iso file.
