i wanted to update my bios to see if it unlocks the option to overclock in the bios settings. it only lets me adjust the multiplier & voltage, but it says its already at max.. i have an asrock k8upgrade vm800 socket754 & the bios is american megatrends. i think its the first version that came out though im not sure. on the asrock site there are about 20 updates since then but am unsure what one i would need. i downloaded the latest one, but am a bit paranoid about installing it in case it does any damage. could someone please have a look & tell me if this is the right update for me? it is version 2.30 i have downloaded & i think its version 1.10 i have installed just now. any help is appreciated, thanks *EDIT* here is the download site for the bios my motherboard :http://www.asrock.com/support/download.asp?Model=K8Upgrade-VM800 *EDIT* my version is actually p1.50 as i just checked
install latest one. if your unsure call the manufacturer adn they will tell you for sure and then wa bam your updated.
ok, i have the latest one downloaded on my desktop.. how do i backup the one i have just now in case of problems? any help is appreciated, thanks mate
