First, this is not a Mac vs PC thing. Although I do tease my Mac loving friends, I am just trying to find out some info for a friend who is just entering the dvd backup world.

How are utilities such a Mac the ripper and DVD2oneX faring against the newer dvd copy protections?? For me in the PC world, we have so many free and capable programs to choose from and the latest offerings are constantly being updated to deal with any new protection that pop up??
Are there any programs for the Mac that are updated as frequently as some of their PC counterparts such as DVDFAb, RipIt4Me and ANYDVD???

Thanks... I just want to get my friend the best options he can.

here again i like to use fast dvd copy. it does the trick for me. As for other apps i cant say as i manly use fast dvd copy. but mac the ripper and DVD2OneX are very good as well. I had to use anydvd one time because fast dvd copy wouldnt do it, but any dvd couldnt do it ether.
