unless you got a pretty awesome soundcard or a receiver hooked up to your computer, you're going to have to do a good bit of wiring to make those work with a set of compie speakers.

the easiest thing to do would be to find a subwoofer meant specifically to be jacked into computers. however, i'm not sure you're going to find something that will amtch your current speakers very well. what kind of sound card do you have?

Why not just buy a set of 2.1 speakers designed for computers, unless you want to have a disco in your house. LOL A decent set of computer speakers provide more than enough power for listening to music and playing games.

agreed. that is a much better way to do it; he just seemed deadset on adding a sub to his current system, thus the reason i went the direction i did.

most subs meant for compie systems have a built-in amp. he might want something else, depending on the system he has now. still waiting for make/model.

Your best off just getting a replacement sub for that system rather than making something not designed to work with that system work. Try contacting who you brought it from.

Thanx for your help so far. I think the best option is for me to buy a different sound system. Any good suggestions?
