    I'd say that the first one is a very nice laptop and would be my personal choice.
    -Bigger HDD
    -Faster processor

    Not much else is different, except the graphics, which on the first one is less, 256mb as apposed to 512mb on the second.

    If you are using it fr gaming etc then I'd say the second one depsite the lesser graphic capability, but if you don' want it for things like that ie games, multimedia etc, then I'd say the second one was adequate.

    the more expensive one is better across the board, better cpu, gpu, more storage, better conectivaty (gigabyte lan and dvi) and you can upgrade it more when you need to.

    the ati gpu does have more memory but the 7600 is a more advanced graphics processor and it doesnt need all that ram.

    so you will pay more now but it will last you longer.
