oki installed my xecuter 2.6ce mod on my v1.1 xbox using the wire install method...when i put on the xbox, i dont get a frag, the box would boot up like normal when the mod switch is on or off. i know the mod chip is getting power as the switch lights come on but i'm not sure why its not booting flash bios so i can flash the chip. i have tried both banks...

    thanks in advance...

well, I don’t have aid, actually I never heard of it till now lol...I made a custom evox install disk that formats the hdd and locks it etc, I have used it before so I know it works.. but I need to flash the chip before it can boot the disk.. Right now the xbox is acting like its not modded at all, it would just boot up as usual and go to the m$ dash, all the lights on the chip and switch would come on when I power on. I’m starting to think that the flash bios software wasn’t flashed on the chip before it was shipped.

Where can I find info on this aid installer?
    thanks

when i got the 2.6, i opted for the solderless adaptor. if you got a problem with your install, then get the adaptor, well worth it!

I got the aid program, but I’m sure it won’t work, as the xbox in its "un-moded" state won’t be able to boot the disk. I would either have to soft mod the box first then use aid to flash the chip, or get a programmer for the chip and flash it that way. And as for a solderless adapter...i don’t waste money on those things, if I buy a solderless adapter that’s just me being lazy..lol. my first mod I used a solderless, and every time I moved my xbox to a friend's house it would frag the next time I put it on ...after I got tired of opening the box to reposition the mod chip I used the wire install...never turned back from a wire install since....donno why people so afraid of it lol

um, have you tried flashing via html? ms dash has nothing to do with ftp. ftp is provided by the evox or what ever dashboard you are using. check your network settings, how are you connected to your xbox? do you have everything plugged into a router or are you using a crossover cable going from your computer to your xbox... before you get to flashftp, you should first flash that chip. the easiest way would be via html, when you select that option in flash bios, it will give you the information you need to put into your web browser so you can then browse to the bios file...its just like adding an attachment to an email.. you click browse, you select the file and then you click flash.. i am assuming that you already know how to create the bios, you should be careful to include the flashbios program in the bios you want to use, that way if you want to flash the chip again in the future you can switch to bank 2 and boot the xbox and the flash bios program will run. if you dont do this, the only way to flash the chip again would be to get a programmer...

Sceeerrrrrch hold up. I have to write a bios..? how the heck is that done..? So in the end there will be two things on the disk when I put it in the box..? They are? I tried to flash or load the bios by using flashfxp, typing in the number underneth where it sais something about the actual ISP#.. You can do that right..? Its DHSP i think. Not sure. If someone is trust worthy to link in using flash and help me if you can i'll give you my aim and we will go from there about the isp#..

lol, i think you need a guide...www.xboxscene.com or www.x-b-o-x.com are good places to start. you are way WAYYY off and you need to do some reading first. not trying to be mean but it seems you dont have the networking basics down. you cant put a bios on a chip with flashfxp and its dhcp not dhsp...i'd start with x-b-o-x.com first, there is a really nice tutorials there to start you off, you can even find the various dashboards there, recommend you use evox as its easiest, and although others may dispute that, i know evox well enough to get you going, so use that. once you know what you doing you can explore other dashes. post back here when you done.

This is almost worth sunding it to llama to have them install it... lol no jk. I wanna get this kinda on my own. aside from the help of people on here and what not...

well the thing is everthing builds on itself...being that you have an x2.6ce chip it means that the only way you will get a bios on the chip would be to flash via the network...you could buy the programmer, but the chip comes with a utility on it that allows you to connect via the network and flash the chip... i recall asking you how your network setup was but you have not answered.. care to elaborate? and on x-b-o-x.com create a login, you will need it to access the info..dont look for your chip just go to tutorials then original xbox beginners guides.. there check out the The Beginners Guide to XBOX Modification.

ok, that means you running dhcp, that makes things a bit easier....ok you said you got the chip installed..so when you put on your xbox do you get the flash bios screen? its a blue screen with a bunch of options.. you may need to switch to bank 2 to get it...if you do select network flash..and after a few seconds you will see an ip address.. most likely it will be 192.168.100.something, whatever it is go to your pc..open internet explorer and put in that number where you type in urls..i think you can take it from there..you must obtain a bios first though...

http://www.xbox-modchips.com/tutorials/flashbios-tutorial.htm, the tutorial is for an x3 but its the same, just ignore the part about the switches, just make sure the flash protect is off..remember if you dont intend to get a programmer its a good idea to keep this flashbios software on your mod so you can flash the chip again if you cant get into evox and do it, when you download a bios download flashbios as will, you will find all on that x-b-o-x site. just select an evoxm8 bios or an xecuter bios, you will need a bios manager program http://www.xbox-modchips.com/tutorials/x2bmv22.htm, follow this guide up to the point where they say to flash the chip... this is the program used with the programmer...but you will use it to combine the xecuter bios with flash bios to make a single 1mb bios for you to flash to the chip via the method shown in the first tutorial....have fun.
