manhattan hard drive giving hard time

    ok, i also have another thread out asking about a new hard drive. thats because the one i have now is being a pain.

    its a manhattan hard drive, a little over 100GB i belive. my dad gave it to me. i recently backed up all my important docs on it and i wiped my hard drive. well i'm moving all my files back and it's got a habit of kciking off, or not even trying to move the files. then it disconnects automaticallly and my laptop says there was eiter a network problem or the hard drive is damaged. i checked it and it says it was working properly. if any1 has a solution to it, that'd be great!

    might be the hd enclosure causing you the problem, not the actual hd

    what do you mean? should i take the cover off and put it back on?

    is it still under warranty?

    doubt it. i got it from my dad. he most likely got it from a friend from work. it looks kinda old, but not ancient.

    check to see if there is a date on the casing
