    This is the delima

I recently bought two types of DVD-R 16X Fuji and Verbatim - both un able to burn with my Sony DW U14A.

I've upgrade the firm ware to 2e and Im running Nero 7.

If I use my old DVD-R 8X it burns fine but the moment I put anything in that16X it gives me a power cali error.

I cleaned the drive. Blew it till I turned bllue.

Now Im stuck. DO I have to buy a newer DVD burner??

thread teleported to relevant forum and Nero serial number removed.

2.0e is indeed the latest firmware for your burner - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1618 [bold]however[/bold] that burner/firmware ceased being supported 3 years ago, hence why it'd no good for modern media...you either need to stick to 8x media, which should still be in healthy supply for a while yet, or buy a new burner...

As creaky pointed out, your media isn't being recognised, hence all the 0's. What you want is some top quality 8x disks. Either Sony, Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. They are slightly harder to find nowadays, but it's what you need, unless you want to, as creaky said, buy another burner.
