I suggest you be more descriptive when you start a thread. "What should i get" does not tell the readers enough so you won't get much response. You might only get annoying little messages about what a deficient title you came up with.

With that aside, plasma would be the best bet. Plasma TVs are far superior to LCD.
Although if you want a smaller screen, LCD is good for you.

You should look at the pioneer 50incher for about 1k more.
Or the panasonic 50incher.
Or sony LCD 46inchers that are around your price range. If you have a Costco near you, get the sony from there. Good return policy if youre not satisfied. My 2 pixels worth.

Once again, comes down to your uses. Plasma is hardly superior to LCD these days. If you are using a PC at all, AVOID plasma for sure, they suck bad at handling PCs. I had an LG Plasma, and after one hour of using a pc on it, I had the image stuck in the screen for the next 5 days.
I ended up getting the Samsung LNS4092D and it has a far superior picture to the LG HD plasma I had, which I returned for the samsung. Also depends on size. If you are not using a PC, and want something in the 46 - 50" range, I would probably look at Panasonic Plasma.

Good luck with your choice!
