I think flat panel is better, but I couldn't afford a flat panel. Go into a store & judge for yourself. I went w/ a rear projection LCD. Very happy w/ it.
some rear projection LCDs look pretty damn good. but yes, you have to look for yourself to make that call as it depends greatly on the cost. A $1500 LCD rear projection will by far look better than a $999 nn plasma of the same size.
After all the reading and research and viewing I did, I chose the Sony SXRD 60A2000 LCD Rear Projection TV. It fit my budget I think (well actually nothing ever fits anyones budget) with regards to the size, resolution picture quality etc. What's better? Who really knows since they all have their little perks and glitches. To me I felt I wanted the futue 1080p covered. I wanted the size 60". I felt the picture quality was terrific. For that matter you could check into the Toshiba rear projection, they have great reviews.
-Which do you guys prefer? Plasmas -What reasons - Hockey and I need over 42" -What are the negative aspects? Burns screen harder -Where is this technology leading in the near future? Future is here. Watch after holidays they drop 15% in price! -How soon will it be obsolete? Wow, who knows. 15 yrs they think of putting tv's on the wall instead of sheetrock??
