Hi, I play online games like guild wars and runescape. I've been playin for like 2 years but never had a problem with my internet when playin them. My internet is wireless and 11mbps. however when i go on guild wars or runescape it goes down to 2mbps! I installed service pack 2 the other day, maybe its something to do with that. Is there a way to set your internet connection to stay in one place all the time?

do you have a firewall/antivirus, is there any walls between the router and the adapter?

    It's SP2 doing that.
    Download lvllord's tcpip.sys patch here : http://www.lvllord.de/
Change halfopen connections to the standard of 50 (or more if you want).
That should help at least a bit.

Josh, he just stated he had no problems before with playing them.
Says he's been playing it for 2 years.
He hasn't switched systems as far as i can tell, so that wouldn't be an issue.
Then he mentions his internet slowed down after installing SP2.

Now FYI, SP2 changes halfopen connections in windows XP to 10, which will drastically slow down connection speed.
Hence i say he should use the lvllord patch.
Also, if he had RAM issue's, his entire system would be suffering from slowdowns, and he would also be having other problems.

    Downgrade, no.
Uninstall after manually installing it, yes.
