I burn torrent downloads and I get very bad results with Nero, they are usally DivX avi files. I have version 6 and burn with nerovision. My burns work well on my computer but when I play the DVD on my stand alone DVD player the player just sits there reading the DVD and doesn't play them. When I put in a bought DVD it starts up very fast. The Nero burning process just doesn't format the burn to DVD industry standards. I’m I doing something wrong, is there something I am supposed to turn on? Nero is considered to be the best or I’m I wrong? Right now I am using DVD Studio Pro on my Mac to burn, but it takes forever. I do use high quality DVD disc as suggested by the manufacturer of my DVD player. Any suggestions would be very much be appreciated.
What make of media are you using? What model is your drive? Are you booktyping? Do you know what that is? What version of Nero 6 do you have? How old is your dvd player? What speed are you burning at? Thanks ;-)
I am using Sony or Memorex DVD ROM's. My drive model is a HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4040B What is Booktyping? I am using NeroVision Express 3.10.25 I have a Combo GoVideo DVD recorder with VHS deck aswell, it's a very difficult model, doesn't really understand non-dvd industry DVD formats, this is where my problem is. I lowered my burning speed to 1x, I use to burn at MAX.
Ok, Sony is good media, however you need to scrap the Memorex dvds, as they are rubbish. Booktyping is something that changes DVD+r disk to DVDROM format (like comercial dvds), so they are recognised in dvd player better. As you said your player doesn't take industry formats, can you tell me what it does support please. Don't worry if you don't know what they are Burn faster, 4x or 8x. Burning too slow can cause errors, as can burning too fast. Burn at 4x or 8x to be safe You're Nero is uptodate aslo. Update the firmware for your dvd drive. This enable more media to be recognised. Make sure when running it you have nothing in your drive and no other programs running. [bold]**Before we do this though, did your drive come in your PC? Or did you buy it seperately?[/bold]** Get back to me.
Ok then use this to update your firmware.. http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1628 You want the A114 firmware. To update follow my earlier advice.
I don't know what my firmware would be. My computer doesn't tell me the type of DVD drive I have. By what I have given you do you know?
you can easily find what drive you have and what firmware you have and if it needs an update! just download this free program, DVDDecrypter: http://www.riphelp.com/downloads/dvddec.html to find your drive make & model # and if it needs a firmware update:
